Rachel M. Brown
A Celebration of Life for Rachel M. Brown of West Monroe, LA will be 10:00AM Friday, September 16, 2016 in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe with Bro. Charlie Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Serenity Gardens in West Monroe under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00pm until 8:00pm Thursday, September 15, 2016 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Brown was born September 7, 1954 in Urania, LA and passed from this life on September 13, 2016 in West Monroe, LA at the age of 62. She was a loving, devoted and strong wife and mother, a dedicated mamaw, and always put others before herself.
She is preceded in death by her father, W.T. Murphrey, and her brothers, Tee Murphrey, Miles Murphrey and Douglas Murphrey.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Jackie Ray Brown; children, Christi Howze and husband Bobby, Jamie Lynn Brown and Joshua Dee Brown and wife Sarah; her mother, Mary A. Murphrey; two sisters, Patricia Ann Lofton and Denise Cox; twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and loving friends.
