Peggy Ann Sasser Griffith Reynolds
Born Texas 1932, Aged 84 Years 4 mos.

Mrs. Reynolds passed away on March 9, 2017. Raised in Pritchett during the Great Depression and World War II. Descendant of early Upshur County Alabama Confederates and Ohio Yankees.

Intelligent, artistic woman with country folk capable, no-nonsense, self-reliance, get it done abilities. Lived the life of most of us, the best and lesser times. but always free of monotony.

Oil painter, house framer, made clothes, amateur poet, insatiable reader, lover of antiquities, cooked too many weird dishes, grand on military service. Graduate of Kilgore College. Resident of Bossier City for 20 plus years. Penultimately, good fortune granted her a sporting life of leisure and residence on St. Charles Avenue in the Crescent City for 25 years.
Preceded in death by husbands N. Nash Griffith of Texas and J. Nelson Reynolds of Virginia, sons Neuell N. Griffith of New Orleans and Michael W. Griffith (Rhonda Powell) of West Monroe, LA .

Survived by: Sharon E. Stegall (Raymond Stegall), Shelby J. Reynolds , and Thomas W. Reynolds of Johnson City, TX; Richard E. Reynolds (Carmen Solorio D.) of Seattle, WA; daughter-in-law Rhonda L. P. Griffith of West Monroe, LA.; cousin Retha Hurse of Gilmer, TX.

Grand children: Timothy Stegall (Lori Humble) and Susan (Donald Shumate) of Austin, TX. Philip Reynolds of Prishkita, Kosovo; Damien Reynolds (Chrisitine O’Connor) of Dallas, TX. Leslie Reynolds, William Reynolds and Michael Reynolds (Chelsea Jackson) of Seattle, WA. Zoey Griffith of West Monroe, LA.

Espoused and cherished dignity, intelligence, and accomplishment in self and others. Will greatly miss Magazine St., flambeau, Times Picayune, and the street car.

A handsome Southern woman and a most literate citizen of her times.
