Violet Irene Fletcher
Violet Irene Fletcher, 92, of Simsboro, La, died on June 2, 2017 at home after a brief illness.
She survived her husband of 63 years, Roderick Fletcher, and leaves behind a son, Raymond Fletcher of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, a daughter, Juletta Davidson, son-in-law, Paul Davidson Jr of Ruston, LA, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was born and raised in Clear Lake, Minnesota, later married Roderick Fletcher, who served in the Navy, which offered her opportunity to travel. After retirement, they settled in Simsboro, LA, where she became involved in different organizations in the community.
She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church in Simsboro, LA, where she truly looked forward to each and every service.
She was very proud of her heritage and family land on the Mississippi river, therefore following her wishes, there will be Memorial Celebrations at 1:00pm Friday, June 16, 2017 at Memorial United Methodist Church, 9325 Hwy 80 Simsboro, LA and in Clear Lake, Minnesota to be announced at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe.
