Obituary for Robert Thomas Boggs Sr.
Robert T. Boggs, Sr.
Robert T. Boggs, Sr. passed away at the age of 79 after a night surrounded by loved ones laughing and reminiscing over their times with him. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on May 23, 1938 and died in Monroe, LA on December 10, 2017. Robert served in the United States Navy as a cook and radar technician. After finishing his service, he was a salesman for Junior Achievement and later owned BP Subs and Deli in Monroe. He loved cruises to the Caribbean and traveling to his home town of Philadelphia; but above all, he loved time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents Robert C. and Elizabeth Boggs, his first wife and mother of his seven children Phyllis Peck Boggs, his second wife Daisy Armand Boggs, and his beloved son Robert T. Boggs, Jr. He is survived by his sister Anna Mae Stoebenau, daughter Gina Jones and husband Rick, son Richard Boggs and wife Gayla, son Nelson Boggs, son Andrew Boggs and wife Sylke, son David Boggs and wife Angie, and daughter Susanne Crump and husband Wayne, along with 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation and services will be held Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Monroe, LA from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, Robert requested that donations be made to the St. Jude Foundation.
The family would like to thank United Hospice and Heart of Hospice for the love and care they showed to Robert and his family.
