Obituary for Todd James Werner Sr.
Funeral services for Mr. Todd James Werner, Sr. of West Monroe, LA will be 10:00 am Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Cedar Crest Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA with Pastor Greg Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Hasley Cemetery at 1500 Arkansas Road in West Monroe, LA under the direction of Griffin Funeral Homes West Monroe. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday, May 11, 2018 at Griffin Funeral Home, 911 Warren Dr. West Monroe, LA.
Todd was born January 23, 1962 and departed from this world peacefully in his home on May 8th 2018 in West Monroe, La at the age of 56.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Carol Werner.
Cherishing his life and memories include his wife of 18 years, Michele Werner; his children, Todd James Werner, Jr. “TJ” of Tulsa, OK, Mattie Werner of Tulsa, OK, Rachel Miller of Santa Rosa Beach, FL and Ashtin Patrick and husband, Bradley of West Monroe; three grandchildren: Morrison Miller, Emory Miller and Carter Patrick; dad, Ron Werner and wife, Brenda; mother in law, Shirley Crow; brother, Tab Werner and wife Angela of Little Elm, TX; sister, Lora Mullings of Houston, TX; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews and friends.
Todd graduated from Huntington High School and continued his educations with a Bachelors from Louisiana Tech University and a Masters from the Louisiana State University. A devout Christian, father, banker, and friend; you could always find him on a lake fishing or at an event celebrating the life he loved. Todd married Michele on March 30th 2000 and together they created a life of love, laughter, family and travel. Despite battling heart issues that led to a transplant, Todd did not let that get the best of him and continued to live his life to the fullest, ensuring to bless all those around him.
Matthew 6:21 “For where our treasure is, there your heart will be also.” In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Heart Association or Cedar Crest Baptist Building Fund.
