Bill Carter was born November 22, 1919 in Gifford, Arkansas and passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 15, 2017 at the age of 96. He was a World War II veteran in the Army Air Force and was connected to the Flying Tigers division as a Radio Operator. He worked many years at Lockheed in California for the air force. In 1955, Mr. Carter moved to Ponca City, OK, where he became a real estate broker. Mr. Carter also owned the Landmark hotel and restaurant and is famous still today for his fabulous homemade pies. He was an avid fan of OU football and Oklahoma Thunder basketball.

Mr. Carter was a horseman and raised beautiful quarter horses throughout his life. He loved visiting and talking with people so in later years he thoroughly enjoyed his role as a Wal-Mart greeter where there was always someone he knew walking in the door. He adored his family and was a loving husband, dad, and grandpa. He was a member of the Second Baptist Church and loved the lord. His blue eyes and beautiful big smile will be missed, but never forgotten.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Gail Carter, mother and father, Emma Adams and William A. Carter, and brothers, Doug, Marvin, and Presley.

He is survived by his 2 children, Karen Sue Carter and William Michael Carter, a grandson, Ryan Patrick Carter, a brother, Rex Carter, step-daughter, Carolyn Rhoades, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
